Advertising Age reports that 86 percent of users would rather watch advertising spots on the iPad to get to free content instead of paying subscription fees. Not surprisingly though, the users also say they’d rather not watch advertising spots either. This is interesting because News Corp.’s Rupert Murdoch is about to unveil the iPad-only news app The Daily, which was delayed last week because some necessary tweaks to the app weren’t ready. Users will have to pay 99 cents a day for download. Based on this new research, we wonder how successful The Daily will really be.
