Apple’s Jobs takes medical leave of absence

Posted on January 17, 2011

Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced today that he is taking another leave of absence due to medical reasons. In his note, he says he hopes to be back soon. This has caused some eyebrow raising in the industry after Jobs missed the Verizon iPhone conference and the launch of the iPad’s newspaper The Daily was delayed. Industry experts have noted that Apple without Jobs is like Disney without Walt. Last time Jobs took a medical leave, Apple’s stock took a bit of a tumble. The stock exchange was closed today because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day but stocks overseas dipped a little today. For Apple’s sake, we wish Jobs a speedy recovery.
