NOOKnewstand finds a niche

While there are indicators out there that newspaper, magazine and periodical sales won’t have much staying power on the iPad, Barnes & Noble has quietly found a road to success with its NOOKnewstand periodical service. Barnes & Noble says it has sold more than 650,000 subscriptions and single issue copies since NOOKnewstand’s launch two months ago. The service offers 100 magazine titles. This is a trend we will be watching closely.
