The rock band Radiohead will release the first installment of its new record “The King of Limbs,” which the band is calling the world’s first “newspaper album.” We find it interesting that in a world where the newspaper industry seems to be in decline that someone in the music industry would try to capitalize on a newspaper format. Well, it’s not exactly a newspaper format but some ideas are similar.

Details on the newspaper album from Radiohead’s site:

  • Two clear 10-inch vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
  • A compact disc.
  • Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-color piece of degradable plastic to hold it all together.
  • A digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.

There are no details on the album’s track list or who created the artwork. We’d love someone to post a review.
