Twitter has historic night at the #Oscars

Instead of watching the Oscars on TV, we watched it on Twitter. So did hundreds of thousands of other tweeps. (Although, they might have been watching it on TV as well.) TechCrunch.com has a very telling graphic on its site today showing the breakdown of how the Oscars played out on Twitter. Almost 400,000 people tweeted 1,269,970 times during the 4+ hour awards show. The Onion’s humorous tweet about no characters from “Toy Story 3” showing up won for the most retweets at 2,963.
